Malayalam thriller Machante Malakha is on OTT: When and where to watch Soubin Shahir movie

Soubin Shahir’s Machante Malakha, which hit theatres in February 2025, is now on OTT. The Malayalam comedy-drama, directed by Boban Samuel, is available for streaming on Manorama Max. The film, which also stars Namitha Pramod, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Dileesh Pothan, had a disappointing theatrical run, receiving largely negative reviews from critics and audiences alike. However, its digital release might give it a second chance to find an audience.

Streaming platform Manorama Max has officially announced that Machante Malakha will be available for streaming from April 4. While it had an underwhelming performance theatrically, it will get a second chance because of the digital release. The OTT platform took to Instagram and announced, "The family film Machante Malakha, directed by Boban Samuel and starring Soubin Shahir and Namitha Pramod, will be available on Manorama Max from April 4."

Plot and cast

The film revolves around Sajeevan (Soubin Shahir), a KSRTC conductor, who navigates the ups and downs of life alongside Advocate Jijo (Dhyan Sreenivasan) and medical shop owner Bijimol (Namitha Pramod). Despite an impressive cast lineup, Machante Malakha failed to impress viewers upon its theatrical release.

Painkili is also coming to Manorama Max

Along with Machante Malakha, another February 2025 release, Painkili, is also set to arrive on Manorama Max. Starring Sajin Gopu and Anaswara Rajan, Painkili is directed by Sreejith Babu and written by Jithu Madhavan. The film generated significant buzz at the time of its announcement and will hit the OTT platform on April 11.
