Sonu Nigam isn't alone, here are other celebrities who shaved their heads to make a point

Singer Sonu Nigam recently shaved off his hair in protest following a Twitter spat between him and the head of a religious organisation. However, shaving heads to make a point is hardly new. These celebrities have done it too:

Lady Gaga

The singer shaved the back of her head in 2012 to show solidarity with her friend Terry Richardson, whose mother passed away from cancer. She tweeted a picture too. ”I did it for u Terry. I’m sorry about ure mommy..”

Vivienne Westwood

The eccentric fashion designer, known for her fiery red locks, shaved them all in 2014 to support the fight against climate change. She has been a long-time crusader for the environment, having previously protested against oil drilling in the Artic.

Kellie Pickler

The reality show singer shed her long blonde hair in 2012 for her childhood best friend Summer Miller, who was battling breast cancer. Pickler had done the same in the past for her grandmother when she was diagnosed with cancer.

Madonna

The Bad Girl singer had a unique way of protesting against President Donald Trump. In January, she posted a picture of hair shaved off her privates to resemble a swoosh. She captioned it, “Yasssssssss! Just Do it! 1 Million Women’s March!! Be There!!” However, it is still unclear whether it was her own picture.

Sinéad O’Connor

When Sinéad O’Connor entered the music scene in the 80s, she got her first contract when she was 17. However, when she was asked to grow her hair and wear mini skirts, she cut off her long locks. She said that she made herself as unattractive as possible to protect herself.
