Son co-pilots aircraft with pilot mom as passenger for the 1st time. His Mother’s Day message wins the Internet

Every parent beams with pride when children follow in their footsteps and succeed in their lives. This Mother’s Day was a memorable occasion for the passengers of an IndiGo flight. Young pilot Amar Thakur’s biggest inspiration to choose flying as a career was his mother.

Thakur walked into the aircraft in his pilot’s uniform with a bouquet of flowers and surprised his mother. The delightful exchange between the mother and son was a heartwarming sight for the passengers. The video of the mother-son pilot duo has been going viral ever since and has been charming netizens.

Without wasting much time Thakur took to the microphone and elaborated on why the flight was a special one for him.


“Good evening ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this is your first officer Aman Thakur. May I please have your attention, for a while? As we all know that it's a very special day today as it's Mother's Day. I am sure you all must be pouring all your love and respect on your mothers. I too would like to make a small homage to my mom on this day,” he said.

The pilot went on to say that for the 25 years of his life he flew with his mom as a passenger and for the first time he was going to co-pilot an aircraft with his mother as a passenger.
“It's been 24 years in my life that I have been flying as a passenger with my mom and on various flights even on our previous airlines and Indigo. So, today marks a very special day for me since I'll be co-piloting the aircraft of this flight and her as a passenger for the very first time in my life,” said Thakur thanking his mother profusely.
