23-year-old shares she feels lost
Jiya revealed that she was born and raised in Bihar, having completed her schooling in the city. After passing the 12th standard, she moved to Delhi to pursue B.Tech in ECE, graduating with an 8.57 CGPA.Despite her good score, Jiya admitted feeling tired of life sometimes. She confessed to feeling lost, burdened by the thoughts of catching up with the corporate world and trying to secure a stable government job.
Jiya added that she is currently preparing for GATE and PSUs but at the same time wishes to devote her time to creative pursuits and hobbies, including painting, travelling, and content creation to experience life beyond just a career.
At the same time, Jiya said that she feels guilty about not being able to repay her parents for all the sacrifices they made for her. ‘Some days, I feel like I’ve failed,’ she admitted, adding that although it might not be true, she feels exhausted and confused, trying to determine what kind of life she actually wants.
Internet reacts
The internet responded with compassion. ‘Pick a pen and paper and write your next 6-month career goal; try to achieve that. Then go for hobbies. Writing the things down will give you more clarity. Doing all the stuff at the same time will always give you self-doubt. Make a stable one, then move forward,’ recommended a user.‘Stop treating each goal as a life or death situation. Sometimes you just forget to live between the different phases of life, and only finishing that next goal becomes the deciding factor for happiness. Fill the spaces; it looks like you are chasing goals, which is good, but keep a smile on that face and mind,’ suggested another.
‘Life is not a race to do everything all at once. Try to forgive yourself. You're human. Just pick one thing at a time. Evaluate if it is meant for you or not. Try for a few days, and you will get your answer. Live your 20s with curiosity. Experiment, fail, move forward, and have fun,’ commented one person.
You’re too young. You’ve just started. Things take time. Life is just getting started. You are blessed; your achievements are a dream for many. Take 1 day at a time. You are overwhelmed with job and exam. Take a break. It will all fall into place with time. Relax,’ consoled an individual.
