Solar Roadways, a firm started by Scott and Julie Brusaw, a husband and wife pair in Idaho, has a clever plan for how roads might be in the future. The company’s goal is to repave America’s asphalt with solar panels.

These hexagonal panels will supply continuous electricity to street lights and will light up lanes/dividers and more. The concept has garnered over $1 million in an Indiegogo fundraising campaign this month.
