LOS ANGELES: Solange Knowles, Beyonce's sister, owes over $55,000 in back taxes to the state of California.

The back taxes are owed from the years 2010 to 2012. According to the latest report by TMZ, the tax lien was filed against Solange in November of this year, only three days after she married her husband, Alan Ferguson, in an elegant ceremony in New Orleans.

Solange's tax problems are in direct contrast to the lavish life that her sister, Beyonce, lives. Beyonce's sister has made a number of headlines this year, with the most scandalous one involving an elevator fight with brother-in-law Jay Z.

The footage was captured on video and made public for all the world to see -- leading to speculation that Beyonce was having major problems with Jay Z.

Solange is not the only one in the family that might be having money issues. It was recently reported that her father, Matthew Knowles, was selling many of their personal items for money.

The speculation is that the monies collected will help Beyonce and Solange's father pay off some of the debts he owes resulting from his troubles -- paternity and child support suits -- with all of his baby mamas.

Solange'S parents divorced when Tina Knowles discovered that her longtime hubby cheated on her and impregnated a woman in 2009.

And in 2011, Beyonce fired her father as her manager.
