Soha Ali Khan reveals supernatural reason behind Pataudi family’s overnight move from ancestral home to Rs 800 crore palace

As actress Soha Ali Khan embraces her darkest role yet in the supernatural thriller Chhorii 2, the actor revealed a real-life paranormal experience that once shook her own family to the core. Known for starring in films like Dil Maange More, Rang De Basanti, Khoya Khoya Chand and many others, Soha Ali Khan was busy promoting her movie Chhorii 2 headlined by Nushratt Bharuccha. In an interview she left everyone stunned after she shared a supernatural event that led the Pataudi family moving overnight to their Rs 800 crore palace.

In an interview with Mirchi Plus, Soha spoke about her role as a sinister dasi in the sequel to the 2021 horror hit Chhorii. But as the conversation turned to haunted locations and eerie set experiences, Soha shared a spine-chilling tale closer to home — involving her family’s sudden departure from their ancestral home, Peeli Kothi, near Pataudi Palace.

According to Soha, the shift was not prompted by renovations or relocation, but by something far more sinister. She claimed that her great-aunt was slapped by a ghost. And the mark was clearly visible. Hence, the family vacated Peeli Kothi overnight and moved into what is now the iconic Pataudi Palace. Despite being prime real estate, Soha added that the former residence still stands abandoned. “It’s like a ruin. There must be a reason no one lives there.”


The story adds a personal dimension to Soha’s role in Chhorii 2, where she plays the antagonist for the first time. Directed by Vishal Furia, the film picks up seven years after the events of the original. Nushrratt Bharuccha reprises her role as Sakshi, a mother now living with her daughter Ishani, who suffers from a condition that forces her to remain in darkness.

Alongside Soha and Nushrratt, the film features performances by Gashmeer Mahajani, Hardika Sharma, Mukul Srivastava, and Kuldeep Sareen. Chhorii 2 is now streaming on Prime Video — and if you believe in haunted homes and ghostly encounters, Soha’s real-life story might just leave you more spooked than the film itself.
