Soaking in the monsoon was on cricketer Poonam Raut’s mind for some time
Mumbai girl Punam Raut, who was one of the key players in the Indian women team’s run in the World Cup, has had a dry spell. Not in the game, but of the seasonal kind. Since returning from England post the tournament, one of the things she was looking forward to was enjoying this season’s showers.

However, given that she missed the rains in Mumbai this year, the 27-year-old batswoman, after several rounds of felicitations with her team mates, decided to head to Matheran instead for some monsoon unwinding.

Raut’s love for the rains was apparent in the many pictures she shared from her short trip, drenched and happy. “Had a good time in Matheran# peaceful life# # Rain#Always”. The cricketer also threw in a thought for the environment. “If you respect nature, it will respect you back,” she added. It seems soaking in the monsoon was on Raut’s mind for some time. She even lamented about not getting enough of the rain at a felicitation event recently.

The blissful picture from Matheran seems to have dispelled her dry spell, finally.
