Smooth, stylish and fast: Inside the Jaguar F-Type R Coupé

The recently launched variant comes with modifications but retains the stunning prototype’s basic look

When Jaguar launched the F-Type in 2013, it was all auto enthusiasts could talk about. Now, two years later, the automobile company has launched a brand new version of the car that promises to be smoother, smarter and definitely more stylish.

In 2013, the F-Type was released with a basic three car line-up. The 2015 version will offer 14 different variations in terms of colour, engine and four-wheel drive options.

The shift from convertible to coupé has led to a slightly modified bonnet, but the basic prototype model of the F-Type R remains the same as the previous version, which, of course, was just stunning.

The interiors of the car are as chic as the exterior. To suit the coupé style, the seats are low and comfortable, and are available in seven colours and three finishes.

However, under the bonnet, the 2013 and 2015 version are quite different. You can pick between 3.0-litre V6 engine with either 340bhp or 380bhp or the flagship R with its 550bhp 5.0-litre V8.

With its powerful engine, this vehicle can go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds, with a top speed of 171 mph. The other features of this supercar include a new electric power steering system, a six-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive.

Additionally, the car can be linked with the special Jaguar app that allows starting the engine and pre-warming the car remotely.

The F-Type R is priced at £79,950 (Rs 75 lakh approx), and will be available at select Jaguar showrooms.
