Small habit that changed their finances: Taylor Swift, whose networth is said to be over $2 billion by Forbes, follows a simple money lesson her stockbroker father taught her
Taylor Swift is not just a pop icon but also the wealthiest female musician, with a net worth of over $2 billion. In some of the old interviews, the I Know You Were Trouble and Lover hitmaker attributed her careful spending habits and tendency to ...

“On the first day of school they’re like, ‘What do you guys want to be when you grow up?' And everybody’s like, ‘I want to be an astronaut,’ or, ‘I want to be a ballerina,’” she told a YouTube interviewer. “I’m like, ‘I’m going to be a financial advisor.’”
According to Forbes estimates, the ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ star’s networth is a staggering $2.1 billion. This figure now includes her now owning the masters and the publishing rights of her very lucrative music catalogue and a big $125 million real estate collection, which includes a house in Rhode Island that many Swift fans think would make, or already has made, a great wedding spot.
Her wealth has quickly grown mostly because she made a lot of money from recording and performing her music in the last three years. The Eras Tour, which ended in late 2024, brought in over $2 billion from ticket sales and hundreds of millions more from merchandise. A concert film made from the tour, funded by the creators themselves and shown directly in AMC theatres, made $260 million around the world. She then sold it to stream on Disney+ for about $75 million, adding another Disney deal for a behind-the-scenes series and another concert film for an extra estimated $100 million.
In 2025, with the release of her album The Life Of A Showgirl, her music catalogue generated a whopping 14.7 million equivalent album sales as per Luminate findings. She was Forbes' second-highest-earning musical artiste that year without a single tour earning an impressive $202 million before taxes.
In a chat with Fox 13, the Look What You Made Me Do hitmaker revealed how her father instilled in her the habit of saving and investing. “Ever since I was a little kid; ever since I was like eight years old, my dad has been telling me to save my money or invest in utilities,” she said. “He lives and breathes it.”
In another old interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the Bad Blood singer revealed she often didn’t splurge money on cars or jewellery. “I'll rent a house on the beach or something; bring my girlfriends..." she said.
Though she may be unwilling to spend big on cars and jewellery, Swift does have an enviable real estate portfolio worth $125 million. Fobes magazine shared a break up of her real estate profile:
Beverly Hills mansion: $37.4 million
Rhode Island estate: $33.9 million
New York City penthouse: $17.6 million
New York City townhouse: $16.8 million
New York City loft: $9.5 million
Nashville house: $6.7 million
Nashville Music Row apartment: $3.6 million.
Swift is the only artist who has been given the IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year title six times. She has had eight of her albums each sell more than a million copies in the first week in the US. Publications like Rolling Stone and Billboard have placed Swift in the list of the best artists of all time.
She is the first person from the arts to be chosen as Time Person of the Year in 2023, and she is also the youngest woman ever to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2026. She has won 14 Grammy Awards, which includes a record four times for Album of the Year, and also a Primetime Emmy Award. Swift holds the most awards among artists at the American Music Awards, the Billboard Music Awards, and the MTV Video Music Awards. She has been covered a lot in the news and has a big fan group all over the world called Swifties.
