In case you missed it in the theatres, you can now watch it on OTT. Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force has marked its digital debut, but there are two things you should know. The film is currently available only in Hindi. You can also watch it on the platform by renting it for Rs 349 on Prime Video.
A war saga
Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, Sky Force promised an exhilarating wartime spectacle. With a strong supporting cast, including Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur, the film was backed by powerhouse production houses Maddock Films and Jio Studios. However, while critics generally praised its action sequences and performances, the audience turnout in theaters remained lackluster.
Box office collections
Released strategically around the Republic Day weekend, Sky Force aimed to capitalise on patriotic fervor. However, it struggled to gain momentum at the box office, managing a domestic collection of only Rs. 134.93 crore over 40 days. Made on a hefty budget of Rs. 160 crore, the film fell short of breaking even, recovering only 84% of its cost. Its international earnings were even more underwhelming, adding just Rs. 15 crore to the total. The worldwide collection concluded at Rs. 174.21 crore.
