Six reasons why you should watch Rajinikanth's Lingaa
You may have missed the dam in the promos but you will not miss it in the movie. Superstar has turned engineer and helps construct a dam that can withstand rain and shine for a 1000 years. But what happens when you drop a Nitrogen bomb? Watch the dam film.

Apolitical

Superstar in all avatars except that of a politician. He is a collector, an engineer, king, chef and even a thief, but not a politician.

But political

Off the screen, Rajini may have said that he is not afraid to join politics, only hesitant. But Lingaa’s loaded dialogues don’t let you forget, that Rajini is not unambitious. “If every part of you works so well, you can even reach the Parliament...”’ goes one of them.

'Punch'es

Na orudaravai sonna, noor dharava sonna maadhiri (If i say it once, it is as good as having said it a hundred times) was one of Rajini’s most popular punch dialogues in the past (Baasha, 1995). Lingaa’s punch dialogue is more philosophical. Unless you want to consider ‘Parakaaas’ as a punch dialogue. Superstar and his side-kicks say it about five times in the first half. Consider that said five hundred times, because Thalaivar doesn’t say it in the latter half of the movie.

Anti-gravity

Clearly the superstar has learnt some lessons in antigravity from ‘Chitti’, his Robot version in the 2010 release Enthiran. When the villain taunts the superstar saying his bike doesn’t have wings, diehard fans in the hall boil with anger. But an airborne ‘Thalaivar’ takes on the villain’s challenge and calms his fans down.

She is also a collector (of flying papers, potable water, rain water and a dislodged Indian flag). Totally in sync with the character, not so much with the dialogues.

Entry

Superstar makes a ‘dreamy’ entry. And the film has made a big bang entry. Fans are happy to let Lingaa linger on and forget the bad taste left behind by Kochadiyaan.
