Six celebs who faced Twitter trolls
Author E L James recently got whipped on Twitter. The Fifty Shades writer isn't the first celebrity to be at the receiving end of the anger of the Tweeple

E L James, author of the steamy Fifty Shades of Grey, participated in a Twitter Q&A recently and things went a little awry. People called her out on her romanticization of unhealthy relationships, lack of plot and "terrible" writing.

James didn't respond to some of the shadier comments, even as the Tweeple tried to outdo one another with the hashtag #AskELJames.

Here is a wisecrack made at James' expense.

Deepika Padukone

The actress featured in a video directed by Homi Adajania titled 'My Choice' in April along with many other women. Views on the viral video and its impact on women's empowerment stand divided. It did however generate a number of spoofs and trolls around the hashtag #mychoice.

Arvind Kejriwal

With equal amount of bouquets and brickbats, AAP and Kejriwal are social media favourites. Having a number of hashtags to their credit, including #Muffl erman, they are always in the news either for their party's internal rift or the boss man's comments. Take a look.

Hrithik Roshan

In February, almost all of Twitter tried to figure out if a certain dress was black and blue or white and gold. Answer to that aside, Roshan hilariously posed the same question months later to his followers and urged them to ask around. Roshan, as pointed out by some tweets, was too late to break the internet.

Satya Nadella

In October 2014, Nadella was blasted on Twitter for his sexist remarks at a tech conference, where he said women shouldn't ask for a raise but trust the system "because that's good karma". He later apologised for the comment and said he was "inarticulate about how women should ask for a raise". The reactions included:

Bobby Jindal

The Louisiana governor, in the running for the 2016 US presidential elections, said he was American and not Indian-American. We know what he meant. But Twitter erupted and the hashtag #bobbyjindalissowhite began, which soon started trending in India. Snarky comments followed.
