Single malt scotch, fresh pear & good ol’ whisky: These summertime cocktail recipes will help you beat lockdown blues

While getting your hands on readymade cocktails during lockdown might be difficult, you can always channel your inner mixologist and whip up a delicious cocktail at home.
Staying at home for prolonged periods of time during lockdown can be quite taxing, both mentally and physically. What’s more? With the advent of summers, the temperatures are reaching a fever pitch and we all could use some chilled cocktails. It is, therefore, important to blow off some steam every now and then and sip on your favourite drinks.

While getting your hands on readymade cocktails during lockdown might be difficult, you can always channel your inner mixologist and whip up a delicious cocktail at home.

We have two easy-peasy lemon-squeezy recipes, courtesy Angad Singh Gandhi, India Brand Ambassador, Glenfiddich. These are classic cocktail recipes with a funky twist that can be recreated and enjoyed at home.


Fiddich Fashioned

Ingredients:
Glenfiddich 12: 60ml
Honey cinnamon syrup: 15 ml
Angostura bitters: 3 dashes
Orange peel: 1

Method:
-Boil equal parts of honey and water and 2-3 cinnamon sticks in it on low sim and allow the flavour of cinnamon to get infused in the liquid
-Pour the whisky over ice in mixing glass and add the honey cinnamon syrup and 3 dashes of Angostura bitters
-Stir well and strain in a rock glass over ice
-Garnish with orange peel/ cinnamon stick

Glenfiddich Highball

Ingredients:
Glenfiddich 12-year-old: 60 ml
Good quality soda water: 3 parts
Pear slice: 1

Lemon slice: 1

Method:
-Combine all ingredients in a Highball glass, packed with cubed ice
-Garnish with lemon and pear garnish.
-Ready to serve

Ingredients
Ginger: Small piece
Curry leaves: 5 to 6
Sour mix: 20 ml
Bombay Sapphire Gin: 60 ml

Method

Method

Betel leaf: 1
Elderflower syrup: 15 ml
Lime juice: 15 ml
Tonic water

Method
- Take a betel leaf and cut it into two halves
- Add one half in a shaker
- Add lime juice, elderflower syrup and slightly mix them together
- Add Gin and fill the shaker with ice
- Shake it nicely
- Fine strain in an AP wine glass over ice cubes and top it up with tonic water.
