Singer Ed Sheeran welcomes second daughter with wife Cherry Seaborn

British singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran and his wife, Cherry Seaborn, have welcomed the birth of their second daughter.

The 'Shape Of You' singer, 31, took to his official Instagram page on Thursday night to make the announcement by posting an adorable picture of a pair of baby-sized socks.

"Want to let you all know we’ve had another beautiful baby girl. We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4," the singer wrote.


The couple are already parents to a two-year-old daughter Lyra Antarctica. In September 2020, Sheeran and Seaborn had announced the birth of their first daughter with a similar post.

Sheeran, known for his ginger hair and shy demeanour, married Seaborn in 2019, having known her since he was 11 years old.

The couple, who went to the same high school together and reconnected in 2015 while the singer was touring in the US, have kept their relationship away from the limelight.

The two reconnected at Sheeran's bestfriend, Taylor Swift's Fourth of July party in 2015.

The 31-year-old singer is the most successful British artist of the past decade, spending a total of 79 weeks at the top of the charts with eight no. 1 singles, including the global smash 'Shape of You', and four studio albums.

Sheeran first entered the British charts in 2011 with debut single 'The A Team'. His most recent success came at the Ivors in London, where he won the category for most performed work with his hit song 'Bad Habits'.
