Simon Pegg quits Twitter
LONDON: Actor Simon Pegg has abandoned his Twitter account amid concerns that it was making him too famous.

The "Star Trek Into Darkness" star feared the microblogging site, on which he gained more than six million followers, was exhibiting him as a "celebrity" rather than an actor, reported Contactmusic.

"I realised I don't want to be a celebrity, someone who is famous for being famous. And it struck me that Twitter is like your own personal celebrity in your pocket - you gather the fame one person at a time, literally, so I let it go," he said.

The 45-year-old actor's account, which has been renamed Pegg News, is now run by his management team and provides news and information about the star.
