Sundeep Kishan's Tamil action drama Sigma is heading for a new chapter after struggling to make an impact at the box office. The film marked an important milestone for Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay, who made his feature directorial debut with the project. Despite the attention surrounding his entry behind the camera, the film failed to sustain its initial momentum in theatres. Now, viewers will get another opportunity to watch the action drama from home.

Streaming details of Tamil movie Sigma

Sigma will premiere on Netflix on October 30, 2026. The film will be available in multiple languages, including Telugu and Hindi, along with other language versions. Sundeep Kishan plays the lead role, while Faria Abdullah features as the female lead. The supporting cast includes Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj, Shiv Panditt, Anbu Thasan and Yog Japee.

Directed by Jason Sanjay, Sigma arrived in theatres on October 2 after facing multiple delays. Its release coincided with the theatrical run of Vijay Sethupathi's Baththa. The film opened to a decent response on Gandhi Jayanti, but its collections declined from the second day onwards.

The movie marks Jason Sanjay's first feature film as a director. Before its theatrical release, he spoke about keeping details of the story private, even from his family, including his father, Vijay, and grandfather, filmmaker S. A. Chandrasekhar. The young filmmaker has also expressed his intention to build an identity of his own in the industry rather than depend on his family's legacy.

Sundeep Kishan headlines the action drama, with Faria Abdullah playing the female lead. Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj, Shiv Panditt, Anbu Thasan and Yog Japee are among the other actors in the cast.

The film was produced by Subaskaran under the Lyca Productions banner. Thaman S composed the music, while Krishnan Vasant served as cinematographer and Praveen KL handled the editing.

With its digital premiere, Sigma will reach audiences who may have missed its theatrical release. Its performance on Netflix will also indicate whether the film can find a wider audience after its disappointing box-office run.

Sigma box-office collection report

Sigma had a promising start, collecting Rs 2.35 crore net in India on its opening day, as per Sacnilk.com. However, the film could not maintain the momentum, and its earnings dropped from Day 2. It finished its first week with Rs 8.23 crore net in India before ending its theatrical run with a reported total of Rs 8.92 crore net.

According to the final figures provided by Koimoi, the film earned Rs 10.53 crore gross in India. It did not register major overseas collections, leaving its worldwide gross at Rs 10.53 crore.

The numbers fell well short of the film's estimated production budget of Rs 30 crore. Based on Koimoi's box-office parameters, Sigma was classified as a flop after recovering just 29.73% of its budget through its theatrical earnings.

The film was estimated to finish its run with a deficit of Rs 21.08 crore or 70.27 per cent of its estimated budget. Despite the hype surrounding Jason Sanjay’s debut as a director and Sundeep Kishan’s performance in the lead role, it turned out to be a disappointment.

Moreover, the availability of multiple language versions could help the action drama reach audiences outside of its original Tamil-speaking audience.
