Sidharth Shukla's last rites completed; Shehnaaz Gill, TV stars Aly Goni, Jay Bhanushali attend

The actor made his digital debut this year, and had won the 13th season of 'Bigg Boss' in February 2020.
Popular actor Sidharth Shukla, who passed away after suffering a heart attack at the age of 40, was cremated in the presence of his family, friends and colleagues at Mumbai's Oshiwara crematorium.

Scores of people gathered outside the crematorium. Curious fans hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite TV stars jostled with mourners.

Shukla's rumoured girlfriend and 'Bigg Boss' co-contestant Shehnaaz Gill also attended his last rites. Earlier, Gill's mother Parminder Kaur Gill and brother Shehbaz Gill were seen at Shukla's home.



According to PTI, actors Aly Goni, Asim Riaz Paras Chhabra, Mahira Khan, Abhinav Shukla, Jay Bhanushali with wife Mahhi Vij, were also present at the crematorium.

TV actors Arjun Bijlani, Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Arti Singh were also spotted at the late actor's Mumbai home.

The ambulance carrying the actor's mortal remains was also decorated with flowers.


Earlier, Zoom TV reported that the post-mortem reports were completed last night.

There was heavy police security outside the hospital, ahead of Shukla's body being given to the family.

Shukla, who became a household name with the hit TV show 'Balika Vadhu', began his career as a model. He made his acting debut in 2008 with the TV series 'Babul Ka Aangann Chootey Na', and went on to star in multiple other shows including 'Jaane Pehchaane Se.... Ye Ajnabbi', 'Love U Zindagi' and 'Sasural Simar Ka'.

The actor also made appearances on several reality TV series, the latest being the 13th season of 'Bigg Boss', which he won in February last year.

Shukla had made his Bollywood debut with the 2014 Karan Johar-backed film 'Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania'.

The film's actors Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan took to social media to remember their co-star.

Penning a note on her Instagram Stories, Bhatt called Shukla one of the "warmest, kindest, and most genuine people I've worked with."

Varun Dhawan posted a picture of the the trio from the promotions of the film, and wrote, "u are loved by so many and u touched so many with ur kind heart and beautiful personality. Today heaven has gained a star and we have lost one. My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones."


Film-maker Karan Johar, who gave Shukla his Bollywood break in the film, said he would always remember the actor's "warm smile and kind heart."

The late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's sister Shweta also took to Twitter to pay tribute.

She posted a picture of the actor alongside a screenshot of his tweet for SSR, and wrote, "You will be missed Siddharth, gone too soon. Hope your soul rests in peace. I wonder, why God calls all the good ones early!"
