Siddharth Kasliwal bonds with clients over a game of polo

The jeweller takes a leaf out of father Munnu Kasliwal's book in managing client relations.

When you are in the business of selling gems that tote multi-figure price tags, traditional marketing techniques don’t cut it. Customer is king and must rightly be treated to the pastimes of the royals. At least, that seems to be jeweller Siddharth Kasliwal’s mantra.

In a recent interview to a men’s magazine, Kasliwal spoke about how he entertains his clients: by taking them to watch polo. “I bring clients to watch. I tell them we can buy jewellery later. The game gets over by 5, and then I take them back to Gem Palace for coffee,” Kasliwal said in the interview. Of course, the sub text being that over coffee, they look over a couple of rubies and diamonds.

Kasliwal’s approach towards his clients may be borrowed from his father Munnu Kasliwal’s text for managing client relations. In an earlier interview to ETPanache, he’d said of his father, “He was very respected and loved. Before being a jeweller, he was a friend.” The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree.
