Sid Mallya tweets his IPL excitement
News broke out just as the Indian Premier League (IPL) season started that Vijay Mallya's team Royal Challengers had lost its main sponsor Royal Challenge this year because Diageo, the new owner of United Spirits, didn't want to back an IPL team. The king of good times, Mallya, has been unsurprisingly silent on Twitter about the episode, but not so his prince.

Sid Mallya began tweeting his IPL excitement in earnest a few days back, but posted this not-so-cryptic comment on Wednesday: "Things will be written, things will be said, but non of it will take away our love and passion for this team. @ RCBTweets #RCB #IPL" (sic).

But we're talking Sid Mallya here, so it was the only sombre tweet. In a cheeky aside, he took on RCB captain Virat Kohli's rival Gautam Gambhir. Commenting on an IPL picture with all the team captains, including the KKR chief, he wrote, "Would someone PLEASE teach @GautamGambhir to smile?".
