Shraddha Kapoor once shared her diet regimen
Shraddha Kapoor is admired not only for her lively personality and elegant screen presence but also for maintaining a lean and fit physique. In a past interaction, the actor—popular for her role in Stree—opened up about her everyday eating habits. She explained that her diet routine is not random but carefully structured based on guidance from her fitness experts, Praveen Nair and Maahek Nair.

She highlighted that her approach to food is rooted in variety rather than restriction. Instead of repeating meals, she enjoys rotating different dishes daily to keep her meals both exciting and nutritionally balanced. She also credited her home cook Sunita for preparing wholesome yet delicious breakfasts, including dishes like poha, upma, and a traditional preparation called cucumber bhakdi.

A Simple Yet Nutritious Recipe

A cooking platform known as Food Link demonstrated how to prepare this light and flavorful cucumber bhakdi. The dish begins with finely chopped and grated cucumber, approximately 200 grams. To this, chopped onions, green chillies, and fresh coriander leaves are added for flavor. The mixture is enhanced with spices such as cumin seeds, ajwain, turmeric, coriander powder, and a pinch of asafoetida. A spoonful of ginger-garlic paste adds depth, while rock salt balances the taste.

To bind everything together, a mix of flours—besan, ragi, and whole wheat—is incorporated along with a small amount of water. The batter is blended into a thick consistency, lightly greased with ghee, and sprinkled with sesame seeds. It is then cooked slowly on low heat until perfectly done. This dish is best enjoyed alongside a bowl of fresh yogurt, making it both satisfying and nourishing.

Why Cucumber Supports Weight Management

According to insights published by WebMD, cucumber stands out as an excellent food for those aiming to manage their weight. It contains extremely low calories, with a whole cucumber offering minimal energy content despite its size. Its high water composition—nearly 96 percent—makes it filling without contributing significantly to calorie intake.

Foods like cucumber, which have low energy density, are often linked to weight reduction, especially among individuals dealing with obesity. Including such ingredients in daily meals can support gradual and sustainable weight control.

Additional Health Benefits of Cucumber

Beyond weight loss, cucumber offers multiple health advantages. It contains minimal carbohydrates, making it suitable for individuals dealing with fluctuating blood sugar levels. Early research suggests it may assist in stabilizing glucose levels and reducing the risk of sudden drops.

Cucumbers are also packed with antioxidants, particularly in their peel, which help eliminate harmful free radicals from the body. This contributes to lowering the risk of chronic illnesses such as heart disease and certain cancers. Additionally, the presence of potassium supports nerve signaling, muscle function, and healthy blood pressure levels, making cucumber a small yet powerful addition to a balanced diet.
