Shower mistakes one should avoid

Bathing is one of the most mundane things we do everyday yet there are times when we make simple mistakes that can be avoidable.

Shower mistakes one should avoid
Scalding hot showers

Having hot water pounding on your back may feel thoroughly welcome after a long and difficult day, but can wreak havoc on your skin. Excessively hot water can strip your skin of moisture and make it dry and itchy. Avoid long hot showers and if you absolutely must have them, make sure you don't have on consecutive days.

Over-exfoliating

While it is important to remove dead skin from your body, don't go overboard by using a body scrub every other day, or worse, daily. This will cause skin irritation and rashes, not to mention and dryness and flakiness.

Using an old razor

Disposable razors are called disposable for a reason! Discard razors after a few uses instead of waiting for the blades to get dull. Clean your razor well after each use and make sure you let it dry before putting in back in its case.

Not throwing away old loofahs

Loofahs can make your bath feel more luxuriant but can also be a breeding ground for germs. Not only should you replace it every few months (don't wait till it goes woefully out of shape), but ensure that you gently pat it dry with a towel after each use.

Using harsh bath products

Bath products can be extremely beneficial to your skin if you use the right ones. So, make sure that you don't use harsh products that will make your skin feel dry and listless. Opt for ones, which comprise natural ingredients and are gentle on the skin.
