During the shooting of a scene in which the protagonist, Vic Morrow and two Vietnamese children are chased by helicopters, the helicopters span out of control killing Morrow and one child,. Adding to the tragedy was the fact that the kids were working illegally. A decade later Landis and others were acquitted of manslaughter.
