Shilpa Shetty Kundra brings Lord Ganesha home; Mahindra calls Lalbaugcha Raja the 'heart & soul' of Mumbai

The festive fever is catching up with Ganesh Chaturthi right around the corner.

Bollywood actress and fitness enthusiast Shilpa Shetty, along with her businessman-husband Raj Kundra, welcomed Lord Ganesha on Monday.



The couple, dressed in white, was spotted performing an aarti of the idol before the festivities. Shetty Kundra, who is recovering after she fractured her leg while shooting for Rohit Shetty's web series 'Indian Police Force', was seen moving around with help of a walker.



The couple, who were apart during the festivities last year, have reunited for Ganesh Chaturthi.

Last year, Kundra was in police custody in connection to the alleged creation and distribution of pornographic films through apps. His actress-wife celebrated the festival without him for the first time in 12 years since they tied the knot in 2009.

Kundra was booked under Indian Penal Code sections 420 (cheating), 292 and 293 (related to obscene and indecent advertisements and displays) and sections of the Information Technology Act and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

On the other hand, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra was also seen getting into a festive mood.

The 67-year-old took to Twitter to share a glimpse of Lalbaugcha Raja in Mumbai with his 9.6 million followers. The city's most popular Ganesh idol was unveiled earlier in the day.

In his tweet, he wrote, "Nothing expresses the heart & soul of Mumbai better than Lalbaugcha Raja… Ganpati Bappa Morya!"


After a two-year-long break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it appears that the Ganesh Chaturthi festivity is returning to its glory.
