Shilpa Shetty Kundra, sister Shamita, and mother Sunanda summoned by Andheri court over non-repayment of Rs 21 lakh loan

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra, her sister Shamita Shetty, mother Sunanda Shetty have been summoned by the Andheri court.

The actress, her sister, and mother were summoned by the court after a businessman filed a complaint against them over a non-repayment of Rs 21 lakh. The court has ordered the three to appear before it on February 28.

The businessman, an automobile agency owner, reportedly filed the complaint against the trio for cheating him.


The complainant claimed that Shilpa's late father, Surendra Shetty, had borrowed Rs 21 lakh from him.
The businessman alleged that Surendra Shetty was to pay the sum with interest in January 2017. He went on to allege that Shilpa, Shamita and Sunanda failed to repay the money allegedly borrowed by their father in 2015. The complainant also said that Shilpa’s father had taken the loan at 18% interest per year.

According to reports, a cheque was issued in favour of Surendra’s company. The agency owner claimed that Surendra had kept his wife and daughters in the loop. However, Surendra passed away on October 11, 2016.

The businessman alleged that Shilpa, Shamita and their mother have not only refused to pay the loan but also denied liability.
