Shifting gears: Jamshyd Godrej wants industries to provide eco solutions
Climate change, rapid extinction of several species and ecological imbalances are facts.

At a recent talk centred on philanthropy, Jamshyd Godrej spoke of how environmental causes and conservation are still not priority areas. He added that even today, over 80 per cent of the funding for conservation causes comes from overseas.
“Education and health is always a priority. And that is correct. But at the same time, if we don’t have conservation, there won’t be balanced growth. Industry has very much been a part of the problem. But it can also be a part of the solution by focusing on energy and water conservation.
This is the point that we emphasise through industry organisations,” Godrej said. Food for thought.
