Now, an emotional story of such an endearing sibling bond, from Ludhiana in Punjab, has tugged at the heartstrings of social media users. Two brothers, Amar and Dev Devgan, surprised their only sister, Manpreet Kaur Birdi, with a fully constructed house as a token of gratitude and affection for her countless sacrifices.

Emotional surprise celebrates lifelong sacrifice

As per the videos, going viral online, the event unfolded during a family gathering held after a religious ceremony on May 5, as per a report by NDTV. Manpreet arrived at the venue, thinking the 175-square-yard house in Ludhiana's Kot Mangal Singh area was another milestone for her brothers.




Amid dhol beats and celebrations, when Amar and Dev Devgan removed the paper from the nameplate, revealing Manpreet's name, she received the biggest surprise of her life. Unable to hold back her tears, Manpreet hugged her brothers as their family and relatives watched the trio with teary-eyed smiles and heartfelt applause.

Silent strength behind family’s success story

As per the Official Humans of Bombay, the heartfelt gesture was deeply rooted in the immense sacrifices their sister had made for the family over the past two decades. After losing their father to jaundice in 2007, the family’s life changed overnight. While the elder brother took over their father’s factory responsibilities at just 21 years old, the younger brother stepped in to assist with marketing.



Amid this sudden burden, Manpreet emerged as the family’s quiet pillar of strength. She cared for their mother, stayed awake through countless nights preparing meals for factory workers, and tirelessly supported her brothers without ever complaining about her own struggles. As the years passed, the family’s business gradually stabilised, allowing the siblings to complete their education and pursue new dreams.

Amar and Dev Devgan later ventured into creating family-oriented short films on YouTube, driven by their passion for music and acting. Through every stage of their journey, Manpreet remained their biggest cheerleader, stepping into every role they needed, from acting in their videos to helping behind the scenes, while constantly praying for their success.

Even after all three siblings got married, the brothers never forgot their sister’s selfless devotion. Wanting to ensure that Manpreet always had a place she could truly call her own, they decided to gift her a house solely in her name. Amar and Dev Devgan revealed that the plan had been in the works for almost 5 years. The gift was more than a house. It was their way of ensuring their sister always felt loved, protected, and connected to her maternal home.
