‘She speaks so graciously & confidently!’ Kangana Ranaut is all-praise for Deepika Padukone's luminous presence at Oscars

Kangana Ranaut lauded Deepika Padukone for her luminous presence at the Oscars. Padukone was one of the presenters at the 95th Academy Awards, and she introduced the performance of the Oscar-winning song ‘Naatu Naatu’ (from SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’) at the Oscars.

Taking to Twitter on Monday, the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ star gushed about the ‘Pathaan’ actress. She wrote, "How beautiful @deepikapadukone looks, not easy to stand there holding entire nation together, carrying its image, reputation on those delicate shoulders and speaking so graciously and confidently. Deepika stands tall as a testimony to the fact that Indian women are the best (red heart and national flag emojis)."
Padukone was the epitome of old-world Hollywood glamour. Dressed in an off-shoulder black gown, she kept it simple, classy, and elegant. Her look was somewhat reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn's black ensemble in the 1961 blockbuster 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'.


Ranaut's gesture has come as a surprise to many fans, as the two stars were not known to be in the best of terms. A cold war broke out between the two divas, after Ranaut publicly took potshots at Padukone's mental health in 2020. Berating Padukone, the 'Queen' actress tweeted, "Repeat after me, depression ka dhandha chalane walon ko public ne unki aukat dikhadi (those who want to commercialise mental health have been taken to task by the public).

She proceeded to take a direct jibe at the 'Om Shanti Om' star. "If @deepikapadukone says she suddenly got depressed for a break up which happened 10 years ago, we believe her so give me and Sushant same respect if I say I am not mentally ill or if Sushant’s father says he wasn’t mentally ill believe us also na. Why you forcing illness on us?" she wrote.

However, the normally acerbic Ranaut seems to have moved past the feud and extended the olive branch to her rival. Fans were all praise for this sweet gesture.

One Twitter user wrote, "Celebrate others achievement, spread love, and remind all women that supporting each other is everything Today's influential female voices give us hope that we’re headed in the right direction. Rightly said "Real women support women" Kudos to #KanganaRanaut." Another commented, "How Beautiful one woman supporting another woman!." Another praised Ranaut for being gracious and positive. "This is so beautiful. Looks like Kangana on her second innings is much more calm, compose and gracious. Be like that only. We need to stand together as an industry in spite of different political views."
Ranaut also gushed about the Oscar-winning song 'Naatu Naatu'. Thanking the 'RRR' team, she wrote, that 'Naatu Naatu's victory is a historic moment for India, and praised the movie for highlighting the oppressive regime under the British Raj .

"Congratulations to entire India movie about suppression, torture, killing, colonisation of Indians based on racial grounds gets appreciated on a world platform, number of Indians died just during one Bengal famine were way more than Jews died during holocaust. Thank team RRR." she tweeted.
On the work front, Kangana is busy with her upcoming film 'Emergency'. The film is an official biopic of India's former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
