She once told him to drive carefully; now trusts him in the skies: Pilot flies his mother for the first time as captain in heartwarming video

For most parents, seeing their children succeed is a proud moment. But for one mother, that pride came with a seat on the very aircraft her son was commanding. Pilot Tapesh Kumar recently shared a touching video on Instagram, showing the first time he flew his mother as the captain of a flight. The heartwarming clip has struck a chord with people online, with many calling it a dream come true.

Sharing the video, Tapesh described the journey as one of the most memorable moments of his life. He wrote, "I flew my mother for the first time as a captain on the flight! She came along with me for my layover at Hyderabad and we had such a nice time. The pressure to do a nice landing was real. But I did manage a good one.. She also went into a swimming pool for the first time! We had way more food at the hotel than we should've. And then I flew her back home! What a beautiful layover."

The video begins with a message on the screen that reads, "I have someone very special on my flight today. Super excited."


As his mother boards the aircraft, the two greet each other with a warm hug and smiling faces. Another caption in the video adds a playful touch: "First time she didn't say 'dheere chala'," referring to the familiar advice many parents give their children to drive carefully.

Layover filled with memorable moments

The journey was about much more than the flight itself. After landing in Hyderabad for the layover, the mother and son spent time together exploring the city.

One of the highlights came when Tapesh's mother stepped into a swimming pool for the first time. The clip also captures the two enjoying a meal together at the hotel before it was time to return home, with Tapesh once again taking the captain's seat for the flight back.
