Deeksha Seth never imagined she would one day face the camera. Her early years were defined by constant movement rather than a fixed hometown.

Born on 14 February 1990 in Delhi, Seth grew up in a family that was constantly on the move. Her father was employed with ITC Limited, and his job required frequent transfers. As a result, she spent her childhood relocating from one city to another, adapting to new environments and cultures along the way.

Over the years, her family lived in several parts of India, including Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, different regions of Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh. The family also spent time in Kathmandu, Nepal, giving her exposure to life beyond India’s borders. This upbringing across diverse locations played a significant role in shaping her adaptability and worldview.

When she eventually enrolled in college in Mumbai, her ambitions were far removed from cinema. She was fascinated by marine archaeology and dreamed of exploring submerged ruins and ancient shipwrecks. The mysteries of the ocean depths and the idea of uncovering forgotten histories beneath the sea strongly appealed to her. Acting was not even a distant thought at that stage.

A Chance Encounter Changes Course

In 2009, during her first year of college, destiny intervened unexpectedly. While attending an NSS event, she was noticed by a talent scout associated with the Femina Miss India competition. Encouraged to explore modeling, she prepared a portfolio with assistance from one of her father’s acquaintances and entered the pageant.

Despite having no prior experience in fashion or runway work, she impressed the judges and advanced to the top ten finalists. She also earned the Fresh Face recognition, marking her official entry into the glamour industry. What began as a spontaneous decision soon opened doors she had never considered.

Stepping Into Cinema

While working on a modeling assignment in Hyderabad, she caught the attention of the team behind Vedam, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. After numerous auditions failed to find the right fit, she was selected to portray Pooja, the affluent partner of Cable Raju, played by Allu Arjun. The anthology drama received widespread praise and critical recognition.

The anthology drama Vedam premiered to widespread praise from critics, earning strong appreciation for its layered storytelling and performances. The film went on to receive recognition across multiple award ceremonies, strengthening her position as a promising talent in the industry.

Riding on that momentum, she quickly committed to two additional projects. The first to reach theatres was Mirapakay, headlined by Ravi Teja. The action entertainer struck a chord with audiences and performed impressively at the box office, turning into a major commercial triumph and further elevating her visibility.

Shortly afterward, the action drama Wanted released, featuring Gopichand in the lead. This project marked her first appearance as the primary female protagonist. Despite the anticipation surrounding its release, the film struggled to attract viewers and ultimately underperformed commercially, failing to replicate the success of her previous outing.

A Brief Bollywood Chapter and a New Beginning

In 2014, she entered Hindi cinema with Lekar Hum Deewana Dil opposite Armaan Jain. However, the film failed to make an impact, and her visibility in mainstream films gradually declined. She later appeared in the web series Saat Kadam in 2021 before stepping away from the entertainment world.

Choosing reinvention over persistence in films, she pursued an MBA at IESE Business School. Today, she serves as director of business development and strategic partnerships at a UK-based gaming firm, channeling her decade-long experience with media, branding, and audiences into the corporate arena.
