Shahid-Mira, Sooraj Pancholi add star-power to Masaba Gupta's LFW show

MUMBAI: With Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira Rajput making their fashion event debut and newcomer Sooraj Pancholi's maiden solo ramp walk, Masaba Gupta's winter- festive show at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week here featured a lot of firsts.

It was Masaba's first show since her low-key court wedding in June.

Shahid and Mira made a grand entry hand-in-hand before the show, but quickly settled down at their front row seats without indulging in much fan-fare. Masaba's husband producer Madhu Mantena also attended the show along with another Phantom member Anurag Kashyap.



Sooraj, who is set to make his film debut with Salman Khan's production "Hero" had earlier walked the ramp with co-star Athiya Shetty in a fashion show in the Capital recently.

But this time he made a solo appearance on the runway during the show titled "On Your Mark".

"I feel good. I thought I will be a little nervous as I am newcomer but I want to do more shows for Masaba. I like what I wear. We keep talking and want her to make something for men as well," said Sooraj, who was wearing a kurta-styled jacket teamed with tan pants.




Except for Sooraj's outfit, the rest of the collection was all women's wear. Masaba also launched her leather bag range.

Rest of the line was all signature Masaba, with the use of horse prints, on the canvas of white and black with scatters of reds, oranges and yellow.



"For the collection I tried to take inspiration from all the major artiste like Tyeb Mehta. MF Hussain. The way we rendered those painting was very interesting. Instead of just doing flat print, we created a canvas for it and did the prints on top of it."
