Shahid Kapoor confesses about his feelings on meeting ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor after a decade

Sometimes, it can be difficult to watch a former flame move on and be happy with someone else. However, Shahid Kapoor refused to be one of those maudlin lovers who refuse to move ahead of the past and get stuck with what could have been. In an old interview, the actor recalled a memorable moment when he came across his ‘Jab We Met’ co-star and former girlfriend Kareena Kapoor Khan at an award event. At that time, she was expecting her first child.

Reflecting on their meeting, the actor revealed in a 2016 interview that he was happy for her. “Yes, I did bump into her, and it was heartwarming to see her fully pregnant because I’ve just been through that experience of having a baby. I felt happy for her."

For the unversed, Shahid and Kareena dated for five years before calling it quits in 2007. The duo appeared in several films such as ‘Fida’, ‘Chup Chup Ke’, ‘Milenge Milenge', ‘36 China Town’, etc. However, it was their final film, the Imtiaz Ali directorial ‘Jab We Met’, that struck gold at the box office. The duo had never worked together in another film, although they appeared in the 2016 drama ‘Udta Punjab’. However, they did not star in any scenes together.


Kareena is now married to ‘Hum Tum’ star Saif Ali Khan and together they have two sons, Taimur and Jeh.

Shahid Kapoor, on the other hand, tied the knot with Mira Rajput in July 2015 and welcomed their daughter, Misha Kapoor, in 2016, followed by their son, Zain Kapoor, in September 2018. Professionally, Shahid was last seen in 'Deva,' an action thriller helmed by director Rosshan Andrews, where he starred alongside Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati. Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor Khan's most recent appearance was in 'The Buckingham Murders,' directed by Hansal Mehta.
