Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha has shared a glimpse of her recovery after she had to undergo a spine surgery following an accident in Bali. In a video posted on Instagram Stories on Monday, the actor was seen smiling from her hospital bed while watching television.

The clip showed Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol's song Gerua playing on a television as medical staff helped Bharuccha with her meal. Sharing the moment, the actor said watching the two stars had brought a smile to her face and offered a reminder that difficult times can get better.

“And just like that, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol bring a smile to my face. A reminder: things get better… little by little… they always do. Healing slowly, dreaming endlessly…,” she wrote.


The post gave a positive update from the actor as she is still recovering from the spinal fracture she suffered during her trip to Bali.

Nushrratt Bharuccha's first post after accident

Before sharing the hospital video, Bharuccha had posted a photograph of an empty reclining wheelchair placed near a window, with a sunset visible outside. The post, shared on Saturday, was her first social media update since the accident.

The actor reflected on how her circumstances had changed, while also suggesting that she was looking ahead.

“Been chasing sunsets forever, And just like that.. my view changed. But, Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost,” she wrote.

What happened to Nushrratt Bharuccha in Bali?

Bharuccha suffered a spinal fracture in an accident while visiting Bali for a work-cum-holiday trip. Her injury required medical attention, and arrangements were made to bring her back to Mumbai by air ambulance for surgery.

Her team confirmed the incident in a statement, explaining that her health and access to the necessary treatment were the immediate priorities.

“Nushrratt Bharuccha, who was in Bali for a work-cum-holiday trip, met with an unfortunate accident and suffered a fracture in her spine,” the statement read.

The team also confirmed plans to bring the actor to Mumbai, where she would undergo surgery. Videos of her arrival in the city on a stretcher later surfaced online, which led to concern among fans.

Recovery could affect upcoming work

Bharuccha will need time to recover from the injury before returning to her professional commitments. Her team has indicated that her health remains the priority and that her schedule could be affected while she rests.

The actor has appeared in films such as Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Dream Girl and Chhorii. She was last seen in the Netflix film Ufff Yeh Siyapaa, alongside Sohum Shah and Nora Fatehi.
