Speaking to Pinkvilla, he shared how he reached out to industry figures, including Shah Rukh Khan and filmmaker Aditya Chopra, hoping they could help him reconnect with Aamir—but received no support.
Attempts to Mend a Broken Bond
Faissal said tensions in the family were worsened by relatives who, in his words, were “poisoning” the relationship. Believing that those around Aamir were encouraging a negative view of him, Faissal decided to approach people his brother had previously worked with.In the Pinkvilla interview, he recounted going to Yash Raj Films to meet Aditya Chopra but was refused an appointment despite leaving a note. Similarly, he said he visited Shah Rukh Khan’s residence, Mannat, but was not entertained. “I tried to call Shah Rukh Khan also. He didn't entertain me. Mannat ke bahar gaya tha main,” Faissal said.
Perception of Being ‘Mad’
According to Faissal, many in the film industry believed Aamir’s portrayal of him as mentally unstable. He described Aamir as “too powerful” and claimed this perception isolated him further, making it harder for him to get work or support. The most public fallout between the brothers came during their 2007–08 legal battle. In a Hindustan Times interview after the court’s verdict, Faissal asserted he had never been ill and alleged he had been kidnapped, placed under house arrest, and given unwanted medication. He said the court ruled he was mentally fit to live independently.
In his latest interview, Faissal also accused his family of secretly adding medicines to his food and water during that period, leading him to sleep up to 20 hours a day. He said he feared dying from an overdose and later had his suspicions confirmed by a bodyguard. Faissal added that his family wrongly assumed he had fallen into depression after his short-lived marriage ended, something he firmly denies.
