Shabana Azmi tests positive for Covid, currently quarantining at home

Veteran actress Shabana Azmi revealed on Tuesday that she had tested positive for the coronavirus. She is currently under isolation and quarantining at Khandala home in Mumbai.

The 71-year-old took to Instagram to share her Covid diagnosis, but didn't share details about her symptoms. She also requested those who came in close contact with her to get tested and follow necessary Covid protocols.

"(I) request all those who were in close contact with me to please get tested," she wrote alongside an image of herself.

Well-wishers and friends from the industry flooded the comments section with 'get well soon' messages.

Producer Boney Kapoor requested Azmi to 'stay away' from her lyricist-husband Javed Akhtar.

Fashion designer Manish Malhotra, actresses Divya Dutta, Lillete Dubey, Sandhya Mridul and Tillotama Shome wished Azmi a speedy recovery.

Besides Azmi, Bollywood actress Kajol Devgn contracted the infection on Sunday and hinted at flu-like symptoms that has turned her nose red.

Previously, many B-town celebrities shared their COvid diagnosis on social media and eventually recovered after spending the necessary time in quarantine.

On the work front, Azmi will be seen next in the Karan Johar-directorial 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani', starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan.

She will also be seen in Paramount Plus series 'Halo', co-produced by Showtime in partnership with Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television and 343 Industries. Based on the popular Xbox video game franchise, the show will arrive on the streamer on March 24.
