The diva had never shied away from sharing her health struggles with the world. Earlier, she had opened up about living with lupus, an incurable autoimmune condition which leads to degeneration of the body’s tissues. In 2017, she revealed she had to undergo a kidney transplantation surgery. The ‘Ice Cream’ singer also admitted that she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Discussing her thoughts on motherhood, Ms. Gomez revealed to Vanity Fair her desire to become a parent, sharing that she is exploring both surrogacy and adoption as potential paths.
"It's not necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone," she admitted.
"I'm in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.
She added: "I'm excited for what that journey will look like, but it'll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don't care. It'll be mine. It'll be my baby."
On the work front, Gomez is currently starring in the mystery-comedy TV series ‘Only Murder In The Building’. Her performance as Mabel Mora, a young artiste, who is friends with one of the murder victims, has grabbed eyeballs. Gomez was also seen in the French musical crime comedy movie ‘Emilia Perez.
