Ever dreamt of sailing the high seas? Maybe as a pirate? Then this game can help you live out your fantasies. It is available for Xbox One and Windows 10.
Rare, the developer behind Sea of Thieves, calls it a shared world adventure game. This is because when you play the game, you are actually sharing the game world with live players from across the globe.
You join as a pirate who has the entire world at your disposal for plunder. You can choose to play as a solo pirate or join a crew — up to 4 members are allowed per crew. If playing solo, you have the freedom to do whatever you want but you are more open to attacks. If you join a crew, you don’t have to worry so much about attacks but decisions will be taken by the team as a whole.

The idea behind the game is simple — go out to sea on various missions and come back with the bounty (or complete the mission objective, as the case may be).
Missions are broadly of three categories: fight undead skeleton pirates, find buried treasure or go on bounty hunts.
For every successful mission, you earn gold which can then be used to improve your ship or get a new skin for your pistol.

Sea of Thieves has no control over what other players in the world are doing. You might be on your mission but that won’t stop another pirate crew from stealing your treasure and sinking your boat.
