What is known about Jason Galanis?
Jason Galanis is a businessman and a former associate of Hunter Biden, the son of former US president Joe Biden. In 2020, Galanis was sentenced to 189 months in prison and ordered to pay nearly $162 million in forfeiture and restitution after pleading guilty to having a role in two securities fraud schemes, according to The New York Times.
According to documents shared during the trial, one of those schemes defrauded investors and a Native American tribal entity of tens of millions of dollars through the issuance of tribal bonds.
"Jason Galanis orchestrated two multimillion-dollar fraud schemes, and hid behind a team of co-conspirators to conceal his involvement and defy an SEC ban," acting US attorney Audrey Strauss had said at the time of his sentencing.
During his time in prison, Galanis testified in the Republican impeachment inquiry into then president Joe Biden in March 2024. One year later, President Donald Trump commuted Galanis' sentence.
Chrisley and Galanis' relationship timeline
During a May 2026 episode of "Unlocked", Chrisley revealed that she was dating. "I am extremely happy and extremely fulfilled in life," she said at the time. "I feel like where I am at in life is the moment that I had always dreamt of but never thought was possible." This month, she revealed that the two had been dating since July last year.
During the Oct. 27 episode of "Unlocked", Chrisley addressed her age gap with Galanis, who is 27 years older than her. "I would rather 20 phenomenal, unbelievable years with someone than 50 just meh years," she said. "He doesn’t look his age, nor does he act his age. His body is great, his mind is even sharper...This person is the love of my life."
Chrisley and Galanis got engaged while vacationing in the Cayman Islands in December 2025. The couple originally planned to marry in January 2027, but postponed the wedding to May of the same year after learning about the pregnancy.
