A poster of Hyderabad cricket great ML Jaisimha used to hang on Satya Nadella’s bedroom wall while growing up. And despite being at the helm of a billion-dollar tech giant, cricket has always been on his mind – something that Microsoft executive vice-president Peggy Johnson revealed recently.

Johnson was in Mumbai for an event where she indulged in some batting action, even hitting a six. “I have so much respect for the skill and athleticism needed in cricket. And like Satya Nadella has always said, there is much to learn from it. I look forward to playing more of the game,” she said.

When asked how she plans to hone her batting skills Johnson said with a laugh, “We are going to make a cricket pitch at Microsoft. I can start practice at home.”
