After making a quiet yet confident debut with Nadaaniyan earlier this year, Ibrahim Ali Khan is already stepping into heavier territory with his next film, Sarzameen. Set to premiere on JioHotstar on July 25, this emotionally charged thriller not only sees the young actor team up with powerhouses like Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran but also marks the directorial debut of Kayoze Irani, the son of Boman Irani.

Backed by Dharma Productions, Sarzameen explores the price one pays for loyalty to both country and kin. The story unfolds in the politically tense backdrop of Kashmir and follows Colonel Vijay Menon (Prithviraj Sukumaran), a decorated army officer whose life of discipline and sacrifice begins to unravel when personal and national duties collide.

Kajol stars as Meera, a mother and wife trying to anchor her family in the midst of emotional turbulence, while Ibrahim Ali Khan plays Harman, a young man whose past is haunted by unspoken trauma and buried truths. His character promises a layered performance, marking a sharp pivot from his debut.

Director Kayoze Irani called Sarzameen “profoundly intense and deeply intimate”, in a press note as cited by ANI. He further added that the story allowed him to explore the emotional battlefields that are equally impactful as physical ones, and that working with such a powerful star cast was a privilege.
