For wireless charging, the Wireless battery pack comes with fast charger support and is currently the only power bank to offer this feature.
Price: Rs 3,600
Rating: ****1/2

Specifications: 10,000mAh battery, Qi wireless charging, USB Type-C port, 234 grams

There is no dearth of power banks today and you can even get one for as low as Rs 499 with 10,000mAh capacity. However, all of these budget power banks lack the option of fast charge which means you would end up spending hours keeping your phone plugged in for charging. Samsung’s new power bank not only comes with wired fast charge support but also has fast wireless charging capability.

The Samsung Wireless Battery Pack does its bit to look as premium as its price. It’s got a metal body with an anti-slip surface on one side. This anti-slip surface is where you place phones and accessories to wireless charge so it’s a smart move in our opinion. Moreover, there is a marked circular area on the anti-skid surface where you place the Samsung Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Buds for charging. On the side is a full-size USB port, a USB Type-C port, LED indicators and power on button for the power bank.

It supports fast wired charging at QC 2.0 speed (15W max) – we used it with the Galaxy S10+ and Moto One Vision for wired charging and it charged both phones from 10 to 100% in approx. two hours. For wireless charging, the Wireless battery pack comes with fast charger support and is currently the only power bank to offer this feature. We used it with the Galaxy S10+, Pixel 3, Apple iPhone XS, Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds for wireless charging and it worked seamlessly with all devices. While for wired charging, it automatically starts charging the phone as soon as its connected, you have to press the power button to start wireless charging. It also supports simultaneous wired and wireless charging which is a handy feature for the power bank. The only drawback is that if its charging two devices at the same time, both will charge at normal charging speed instead of fast.

Samsung has smartly added fast charge capacity for the power bank as well. You use a fast USB Type-C charger and it takes around 4 hours to charge the power bank from 0 to 100%. While having a wireless charging option on a power-bank is not a new concept and there are a few options available on e-commerce stores, they are mostly from unknown brands and don’t support fast charge. This is what makes Samsung’s Wireless Power Bank a great option, especially if you have invested in the Samsung ecosystem and own a Galaxy Watch, Galaxy Buds and a compatible Galaxy smartphone.
