Samsung S8 launches in India today! Here's what is in store for you
Nearly three weeks after its US launch, the Samsung Galaxy S8 is making its way to India. The South Korean giant's first flagship phone since the Note 7 debacle will be available on home shores from Wednesday. Earlier in March, the company had launched the S8 and S8 Plus in the US.

Touted as the brand's biggest test, the phone's hardware innovations - wireless charging and a top-of-the-line camera - have already created a buzz.

Design has always been Samsung's strong point, and, with the S8, it has tried to live up to that reputation. The slim all-glass body is designed to be held in one hand, and the physical home button has also been replaced by a pressure-sensitive panel placed underneath the screen.

The devices come in two variants with different screen sizes -- the 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 and 6.2-inch Galaxy S8 Plus.

It not just the looks that are appealing, the device is IP68 rated, which means it is both water- and dust-resistant. The security feature has also been heightened.

The brand already faced its first hiccup when it announced that Bixby, the smart voice assistant to rival Apple's Siri and Google's Assistant, wouldn't be ready to be launched with the phone. But that seems like a minor blip.

Will Samsung come out with flying colours in its biggest test ever; only time (or shall we say, the battery) will tell. But from the sneak peek, the S8 and S8 Plus seem like they could be the tech giant's route back to glory.
