The Galaxy Z Flip is Samsung’s second attempt at creating a foldable phone. It is the first phone to use “thin bendable glass”, which minimises the crease on the display where it folds. With the Galaxy Z Flip, Samsung has given us a glimpse that future foldable phones need not be about bends in displays but there can be a new dimension for software capabilities as well.
The Galaxy Z Flip is all about style. It folds to the size of a wallet. When opened, there is a 6.7 inch screen. Also, there is an elegant snap sound when it is shut. All said, keeping the device clean will be a major task. Also, with the glossy colour and secondary cover display, using a case would kill the charm of the phone.
A sturdy clamshell design that folds in the centre protects the delicate flexible screen. A thin glass layer on the screen provides support to the delicate screen underneath and to some extent solves the problem of creases on the display where it folds. Now, the crease doesn’t disappear completely but is less prominent.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip features a 6.7 inch FHD+ AMOLED display. There is a small cover display on the outside. You can use that small touch-display to change music and click selfies when the Galaxy Z Flip is folded. You can get notifications as well on the cover display.

Some useful software tweaks kick in when the device is folded and made to stand like a laptop. For example, you can watch and navigate YouTube with ease — stream videos on the top half while searching for videos on the bottom. Also, you can read an article on the top half while having another website on the bottom half.
The Android 10-powered phone runs Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor and has 8GB of RAM. It is backed by a 3,300mAh battery with fast-charging support and there is reverse charging support as well. The device is a smooth performer and comes with capable cameras.
The main display comes with a punch-hole notch that hides a 10MP selfie camera. On the outside, there is a dual camera setup with 12MP+12MP sensors. There is a fingerprint sensor on the side.
The Galaxy Z Flip is the most practical foldable phone to buy if you have the money. Backed with impressive hardware and camera capabilities, this smartphone is stylish and will definitely turn heads.
