Samantha's shocking 'spy' confession has fans asking: Is there a Naga Chaitanya connection?

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya ended their relationship in 2021, but this has not stopped fans from speculating about their history together. Recently, Samantha's intriguing admission has drawn attention. In a recent interview, she expressed a desire to have "spied" earlier in her life, prompting her fans to wonder if she was referencing her marriage with Naga.

This remark comes at a time when Naga is preparing to embark on a new journey by marrying actress Sobhita Dhulipala. A snippet from her recent interview promoting her upcoming web series, Citadel: Honey Bunny, surfaced on Reddit, where she discussed her wish to be a spy in real life.

During the interview, Samantha was asked if she had ever engaged in spying in her personal life. In the series, she will portray a spy.


In response, Samantha said, “No, not a spy... I don't possess those qualities (within me).” The interviewer pressed on, inquiring if she had ever tried to spy on anyone in reality. She replied, “To be a spy... In the show, I have certainly attempted that. Otherwise, no.... Looking back, I should have,” she continued.

Her statement led social media users to speculate whether she was alluding to Naga. One user commented, “We have received enough hints that her ex was unfaithful, leading to their divorce. Yet, misogynists still blame her since she initiated the separation. Sigh.” Another user remarked, “She will never get over her ex.” Someone else defended her, stating that it's acceptable for Samantha to take jabs at her ex if he indeed cheated.

Chaitanya and Samantha had an on-and-off relationship for several years before tying the knot in a fairytale wedding in Goa in 2017. They were affectionately referred to as #ChaySam, and fans enjoyed glimpses into their life together.

However, they separated in 2021 without disclosing the reasons behind their split. Chaitanya has since moved on and found love with Sobhita. After dating for some time, he is now set to marry her. The couple got engaged in August 2024, and pre-wedding celebrations commenced earlier this week with a pasupu danchadam ceremony in Visakhapatnam. The wedding date has yet to be announced.
