Samantha Ruth Prabhu who is expecting her first child, opens up on motherhood: ‘I will be giving…’

Samantha Ruth Prabhu is on cloud nine. Not only is her latest film ‘Ma Inti Bangaram’ have crossed the Rs 100 crore benchmark at the box-office and became a superhit, the actress is also announcing her first child. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Samantha admitted that she had always wanted to be a mother.

The mother-to-be admitted that she planned on giving motherhood her all, as she had always wanted to have children. “It’s definitely new and exciting. But I’ve been waiting for this moment for a while now. I’ve always wanted to be a mother. So I know that I’ll be giving this my all.”

She also stated that her upcoming motherhood had definitely changed her perspectives and priorities a lot. “I’ve always been passionate about everything in life. But now I feel I carry a different, new kind of strength and purpose in me. I’m looking forward to this journey a lot. And I’m filled with gratitude, learning every day, and getting ready to embrace whatever comes next.”


During the success celebration of Maa Inti Bangaaram last month, Samantha officially confirmed that she is expecting her first child and announced plans to step away from work for a while. She explained that once she completes the commitments related to Maa Inti Bangaaram, she intends to begin her maternity leave. Samantha also assured her fans that the break would be temporary and that she would return to the big screen with a new project after welcoming her baby.

Samantha tied the knot with filmmaker Raj Nidimoru in December 2025 in a private wedding ceremony held at the Linga Bhairavi Temple within the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore. Their professional journey began on the sets of *The Family Man 2*, where Samantha's performance as Raji received widespread appreciation from audiences and critics alike. The duo later collaborated once again on *Citadel: Honey Bunny*, which was released in 2024.

Before marrying Raj, Samantha was married to actor Naga Chaitanya. Their marriage lasted from 2017 until their separation in 2021. Raj Nidimoru was previously married to Shhyamali De before beginning his relationship with Samantha.
