Samantha Ruth Prabhu is quite active on social media and is often seen working out in the videos she posts. She makes sure to complement her fitness routine with healthy meals and frequently inspires others to prioritise their well-being. Recently, the actress opened up about her morning routine and the disciplined lifestyle she follows to stay fit.

In an interview with Vogue, Samantha spoke about rebuilding her body and mind over the past four years while living with myositis, an autoimmune condition that causes muscle inflammation and pain. The journey, she admitted, has not been easy, but it has completely changed her outlook on health and fitness.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu's morning routine

Samantha revealed that her mornings are structured and peaceful. She begins her day early, spends time praying, steps out to soak in some sunlight and meditates. According to her, this routine gives her nearly one and a half hours of uninterrupted “me time” before she begins her day and meets her husband. She believes this quiet time helps her stay grounded and mentally strong.

One of the most surprising revelations was her strict diet. Samantha shared that she ate the same vegetables and basic chicken dishes every single day for almost a year. She explained that because her condition could be triggered by certain foods, she did not want to take any risks. Over time, she said, she stopped feeling tempted by so-called cheat meals because her focus shifted from cravings to healing.

Earlier, during a conversation with celebrity nutritionist Ryan Fernando, Samantha had explained that her diet is largely anti-inflammatory. She admitted that as a teenager she never worried about food because she didn’t gain weight easily. However, she later realised that health is not just about maintaining a certain weight. Inflammation, she said, can show up in many different ways. Her current approach is simple, identify what doesn’t suit her body and eliminate it completely.

Apart from physical discipline, Samantha also focuses on emotional healing. She revealed that when she first fell sick, a doctor advised her to write down her feelings every day. In the beginning, her journal entries were filled with frustration and pain. She would wake up and note how exhausted or uncomfortable she felt.

Over time, however, she made a conscious decision to change her tone. Even on days when she felt miserable, she would write positive affirmations like “Today will be amazing.” She admitted that the shift did not magically cure her, but gradually she began to feel more hopeful about her recovery. That’s when she realised the impact of projecting positivity and speaking kindly to oneself.

Fitness beyond the body

For Samantha, fitness today is not just about workouts or appearance. It is about healing, discipline and mindset. Through structured mornings, a strict anti-inflammatory diet and consistent journaling, she has created a lifestyle that supports both her physical and emotional health.
