Over the years, several prominent actors have bought into IPL teams. Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla co-own Kolkata Knight Riders, while Preity Zinta is a co-owner of Punjab Kings. Despite his close association with many of these stars, Salman said he has no plans to join the ownership ranks.
A Cricket Lover With Unusual League Ideas
While discussing the topic, Salman also amused fans by suggesting he would be more interested in creating leagues based on childhood games such as marbles, gilli-danda, hide and seek, and cops and robbers. He joked about even launching a “doctor-doctor” league, drawing laughter from the audience.Salman has often expressed his admiration for cricket and players like MS Dhoni, whom he calls his favourite. However, he seems more inclined toward fun, unconventional formats rather than professional team ownership.
Focus on ‘Battle of Galwan’
On the work front, Salman was last seen in Sikandar alongside Rashmika Mandanna. He is now immersed in filming Battle of Galwan, a project inspired by the 2020 India-China Galwan Valley conflict. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film involves demanding action sequences and challenging shoots in Ladakh’s high-altitude terrain and cold waters.The actor told PTI that the role has been physically taxing, requiring more intense and prolonged training compared to his previous films. He revealed that around 20 days of the shoot will be in Ladakh, followed by over a week in freezing water conditions. The film is scheduled for a January 2026 release, breaking from his usual Eid premiere tradition.
Beyond Battle of Galwan, Salman will return to television soon to host Bigg Boss 19. He also confirmed that a sequel to his 2015 hit Bajrangi Bhaijaan is in development, further adding to his already packed schedule.
