On Tuesday, actor Salman Khan was seen attending the funeral of his close family friend Kumud Rane in Mumbai, where he appeared visibly shaken while paying his final respects. Videos and photographs from the funeral soon surfaced online, showing the actor struggling to hold back his emotions during the difficult moment.

The funeral was attended not only by Salman but also by several members of the Khan family, underlining the close relationship Kumud Rane shared with them over the years.

According to etimes, Salman Khan arrived at the cremation ground accompanied by security personnel and close associates. Dressed in a simple checked shirt and jeans, the actor maintained a low profile as he met members of the bereaved family and offered condolences.

Who was Kumud Rane?

While Kumud Rane was not a public figure and had no connection to the film industry, reports suggest she shared a long-standing and close bond with the Khan family. Much of her personal and professional life remained away from the public eye.

A photograph shared by Kumud on social media during New Year celebrations last year also showed her with members of the Khan family, further indicating the closeness they shared.

Khan family and close friends pay their respects

Several members of Salman Khan's family were present at the funeral. His mother Salma Khan, stepmother Helen, brothers Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan, and sister Arpita Khan Sharma were among those who attended the final rites.

Others from the extended circle of family friends also arrived to offer condolences. Seema Sajdeh was seen paying her respects, while Amrita Arora attended along with her mother Joyce Arora. Actor Chunky Panday, Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor were also spotted at the venue.

Following Kumud Rane's death, makeup artist Sheeba Iqbal shared an emotional tribute remembering her influence and support.

She wrote, "Today, I remember my beloved boss Kumud Rane Madam with deep respect and gratitude. You were not just a boss to me. You were a kind leader, a mentor, and someone who always encouraged and supported the people around you."

Remembering her professional guidance, Sheeba added, "While working with you, I learned not only about my profession but also about dedication, professionalism, and the importance of kindness towards others. Your guidance shaped my career, and your trust gave me confidence in my work."

Another personal loss for Salman Khan

Kumud Rane's passing comes only weeks after Salman Khan mourned the death of another close friend, Sushil Kumar, whom he had known for more than four decades.

At the time, Salman shared an emotional note on social media, describing Sushil as more than a friend and calling him his brother. Reflecting on their 42-year friendship, the actor remembered Sushil's positive attitude towards life and recalled how he would often say, "Ki farak nai painda, sab theek hoga."

In his tribute, Salman wrote, "Tumhare liye meri aankhon mein aansu nahi hain bhai, balki sirf tumhari yaadein aur hansi hai. Mera bhai chehre par muskaan liye duniya se gaya."
