— ANI (@ANI) 1658499575000The actor's application comes a month after he and his scriptwriter father Salim Khan received a death threat following Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala's murder by members of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi near Punjab's Mansa district on May 29. The unsigned letter was found by the Senior Khan on the bench where he sits daily after jogging in the morning. It said that the father-son duo would meet the same fate of the slain Punjabi singer.
After the letter, Khan's security had been enhanced.
Meanwhile, earlier on July 10, the Delhi Police special cell stated that gangster Bishnoi has warned that his community and he will never forgive Salman for killing a blackbuck during the shooting of Sooraj Barjatya's 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' in Jodhpur. Lawrence also added that he would change his mind only if Salman and his father apologise to his community in public at the Jambaji temple, failing which the Bishnois would kill them.
Bishnoi had earlier threatened the actor in 2018 too. He is in Punjab Police custody in connection with the investigation into the murder of the singer.
