Salman Khan actress got strange phone calls after Palash Muchhal, Smriti Mandhana marriage controversy. She later found out the reason

Actor Daisy Shah, who made her Bollywood debut in the Salman Khan starrer 'Jai Ho', has spoken about how she was approached for a film by composer-turned-director Palash Muchhal. This happened at a time when he was dealing with public attention around his cancelled wedding with cricketer Smriti Mandhana. In an interaction with Miss Malini, the actor shared that the initial outreach did not come from him directly, which left her a bit confused.

Recalling how the offer came her way, Daisy said, “I got 2–3 calls from random people saying that there is a film that Palash is making, and he wants me to be a part of the film. I was like Palash knows me personally because I am really good friends with Palash’s sister Palak, so I was thinking if Palash wants to speak to me, he will contact me directly, or he would message me through Palak so why am I getting a message from a random person whom I don’t know.”

She said this felt unusual because of her equation with his family, especially his sister Palak Muchhal. Instead of waiting, Daisy decided to reach out herself to clear things up.

Why Palash avoided calling directly

Daisy said she texted Palash to confirm if the project was real. That is when he explained why he had not been calling actors personally during this phase.

“So, I happened to drop a message to Palash, asking about the same, and he said, ‘yeah ma’am this is true, but because of the situation lately, I am not calling personally anybody because it might go on a different tangent altogether’.”

After that exchange, things moved normally. The two connected for a narration and Daisy eventually agreed to come on board the project, which also features Shreyas Talpade.

‘I don’t mix personal and professional life’

When asked if the controversy around Palash affected her decision, Daisy made it clear she does not mix the two spaces. She said, “I can switch off from personal life to professional life, and I don’t think your personal life should affect your professional life. First of all, I don’t know what is the actual story.”

She further added, “There are always two sides to a coin. We really don’t know what went wrong because it is between two families, we are sitting here and judging from what we heard from the media houses. We don’t know what is the actual truth, and that doesn’t mean that I am nullifying the woman side of the story. I’m just being neutral. Also, he contacted me on a professional level. So, who am I to even judge a book by its cover?”

Her comments reflect a cautious stance, where she does not dismiss any side but also does not want to form an opinion without knowing facts.

Hopes for reconciliation

Daisy also spoke briefly about Palash and Smriti as a couple and said she still hopes things improve. “I hope everything gets well on both sides, and they come together because they actually make a lovely pair.”

For context, Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana were supposed to get married on November 25, 2025. Pre-wedding functions had already started, but the ceremony was called off just a day before. Initial updates pointed to a health issue in the family, while later reports claimed there may have been other reasons, including allegations of infidelity.

Both Palash and Smriti later confirmed on social media that the wedding had been called off, but did not go into detailed explanations.
